General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Since you are a known case of Diverticulosis with IBS-C mean irritable bowel syndrome with constipation. IBS -C is one of the reasons for colonic diverticuli.
When there is an inflammation in diverticulosis, this is called diverticulitis and is then the most common reason for bloating, pain, nausea, fever, cramps and all the symptoms you have mentioned.
Yes, you should be seen immediately by a General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of CT scan, of the whole abdomen, tests of stool, urine and blood to get the proper diagnosis so that a proper management with an antibiotic, metronidazole can be done.
Take probiotics, avoid laxatives unless told by your Surgeon or a Gastroenterologist.
Diet as advised by a Nutritionist.
