I am 54 year old man in good health. I have been unwell for the past 7-10 days. My symptoms in order of severity: stomach cramps, with either diahrerea or constipation, loss of appetite, low grade fever, pain in my testicles, night sweats/chills. Symptoms subside and come back at varying intervals. Fatigue and muscle/joint pain is ongoing. What could this be?

Hello and welcome to the HealthcareMagic!

Following can be differential diagnosis:

1) Generalized viral gastroenteritis

2) Acute bacterial gastroenteritis

3) Typhoid

4) Non-infections gastritis etc.

Maintain hydration by increasing intake of water and take Vital Z like powder for maintaining electrolyte balance.

If needed, a broad spectrum antibiotic like Ofloxacin plus Ornidazole combination can be prescribed

Avoid gastric irritants such as:

1) Excess tea and coffee

2) Smoking

3) Stress

4) Excess spicy foods etc

If no improvement, please take a widal test, CBC and USG abdomen.

Hope this solves your concern.

Take care
