Hi dear. Thank you for trusting HealthCareMagic. I hope you are in better condition right now. May I know how many times have you got diarrhea?
Firstly I would like to explain about
Imitrex as antimigraine agents. It contains
Sumatriptan (serotonin 5-HT agonist) works by eliciting
vasoconstriction and also anti inflammatory, to relief migraine
headaches.
Imitrex has several side affects, and about 1% patients feel abdominal distress after using it. What you feel like abdominal cramps may be affected by the injection of imitrex. It also can cause
dizziness,
nausea and
vomiting. But diarrhea is not the side effect of imitrex.
Diarrhea can be a symptom that accompany migraine headache. It could happen before migraine complaint, or called prodromal phase. It can also happen when pain presents, or just right the migraine is over (pain phase).
Rehydrate yourself, drink as much as you want, prevent your body from dehidration. Take a rest for good healing. You should consult to your local doctor if these still hapen or get worsen, and also if the migraine recur.
I hope this is useful for you and if you have anything to be discussed, feel free to contact me at HealthCareMagic. I hope you'll get well soon. Take care.
Regards,
dr. Asti Yuliadha
