had my smear done bk in june to find out that i have the hpv virus, went to the hospital had a punch biopsy and the results from that came back clear..since august i have been bleeding every 2weeks with really bad belly pains, been to the doctors and ive got a inflamed cervix..what will happen now?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Inflamed cervix can occur in number of conditions like cervical erosion, cervical ectropion, cervicitis, malignancy, etc. Any of above mentioned condition can cause bleeding from the cervix. The Pap smear should be repeated. A colposcopic examination is required followed by cervical biopsy. HPV infection is unlikely to cause frequent bleeding. Thus, other possibilities have to be looked for.
