What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Sore Nipples While On Depo-Provera?

Hi i got my first ever depo povera shot on April 26 & had unprotected sex May 22. I have been having some cramping & my nipples kinda do hurt. My boyfriend said he pulled out but I honestly do not know what is going on. I would like to know what my chances of being pregnant are before i make a big deal.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, such contraception after a single shot can have failure rates as therapeutic levels may not have been achievement or enough hormonal imbalance to cause disruption in implantation after fertilization may not have occured so it's better to get a urine pregnancy test for reassurance.

If still in doubt, blood HCG levels and ultrasound pelvis may be done.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards
