What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Stomach Upset Along With Diarrhea?
I have been having upset stomach and stomach cramps on and off for little over month. I thought it was stress at first. Sometimes I would almost get diareaha but not all the way liquid. My appetite has been really irregular. A couple days ago I looked down and saw 3 string like things sticking out my stool. One in one 2 in the other. Kind of freaked me out but I flushed it and did keep anything. Next day nothing sticking out so ignored it. Today I put on gloves and broke one open and found one about 3 to 4 inches long. I kept it put it in a bag and took a picture of it. I would assume this is worms? If so how do I get it and what is the treatment?
The symptoms seem to be related to intestinal parasite infection. Routes of exposure and infection include ingestion of undercooked meat, drinking infected water.
I suggest doing a stool test to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest using an anti-parasite medication such as Metronidazole.
The treatment should be repeated at least three cycles for a complete cure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
