What Causes Abdominal Cramps, Blood In Stool And Lower Back Pain?

My lower right back side is aching along with stomach cramps in my lower stomach. I also have had blood in my stool. It started yesterday and was worse yesterday. I have not had a bowel movement today, so I do not know if there is still blood. What might I be experimenting?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms could be due to diverticulitis, gastroenteritis, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, piles. I would suggest to consult gastroenterologist and undergo examination, stool tests, routine blood tests, USG scan and sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy if needed. Meanwhile Take tablet meftal spas for pain.

Drink plenty of lukewarm water, eat soft diet, avoid fatty/oily/spicy food. Other specific treatment depend on cause and tests result.

Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.

Best regards,
Dr. Sagar
