What Causes Abdominal Cramps With Painful Muscles?

Thank you! Since Nov 2015 I have had cramping/extreamly painful muscles (pecks and traps). I have to take 800 mg of ibpropan once a day to manage the pain. Rest helps too. I was very active and now I can only manage about 5% of what I used to do without having serious pain. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You may want to consider seeing a rheumatologist for an assessment. These types of specialists deal with conditions affecting the muscles and joints and would be able to assess you.

It would involve physical examination and blood tests such as complete blood count, ESR, autoimmune profile (checking for conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis). Treatment would depend on the cause found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
