What Causes Abdominal Discomfort After Eating?

Last night after eating, I fell asleep in my chair, and when I woke up and started moving around, I noticed gradual onset of stomach discomfort. It stated again this morning after I ate, and then this evening. I was okay sitting at my desk all day. I have noticed over the past 4 months or so, I get the heaves and throw up sometimes after eating. I do drink one or two alcoholic beverages daily, I m a diabetic on Metformin, Valsartin, Zocor, low does aspirin daily, and a daily multivitamin. Is this just gas or more serious. Normal BMs.

Hello,

Your pain is typically associated with food. So the possibility of gastritis is more likely. Gastritis is more common in alcoholics and diabetics. So you can need to first stop alcohol.

Start pantoprazole and Levosulpiride combination on empty stomach twice daily. Take this for 1 week.

If your pain is improving then no need to worry. But if the pain is persistent then get done ultrasound abdomen and upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy for the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
