What Causes Abdominal Discomfort After Gallbladder Removal?

My fiancé had gallbladder removal approximately 5 weeks ago. Just today he started experiencing similar discomfort in his abdomen. He said it felt like he got kicked in his testicles. His testicles are not in pain, just a little discomfort, it is painful in the abdomen and upper rib area with slight nausea. After looking it up I keep finding that it may be pancreatitis but I also see it may be a diet issue. He had a greasy dinner last night, and after a nap today he was woken abruptly which may have triggered the nausea, then a short while after he had to assist in lifting something heavy which made his side hurt worse. Any thoughts on how we should proceed?

Hello ma'am. Thank you for writing us here.
"Gall bladder is a little organ in tummy which stores bile which is responsible for digestion of fats"
Yes here's the answer. When your fiancé had dinner which had more fats than usual, the liver started producing bile but since there was no place to store it and also because during the surgical procedures, the bile ducts are ligated, it causes discomfort and nausea. Its quite painful though but the pain of pancreatitis is very severe and one of the most painful pains one can have. But don't worry, he would be alright. His diet has to be taken care of and should had minimum fat in it. Try avoiding butter and other fatty foods for few months (about 6 to 8 months) then he won't feel any kind of discomfort like before.
