What Causes Abdominal Discomfort And Foul Smelling Burps During 39th Week Of Pregnancy?
Hi, I m 39 weeks pregnant and have been feeling a bit unsteady on my feet. My belly pulls and hurts when I sit up or get up from being in bed and I have the shakes. I also have rancid burps that taste like rotting meat and it makes me feel sick. I take heartburn tablets but sometimes they are too much for me. Please help
If you are using antacids and they don't help you might try ranitidine which is quite safe in pregnancy and effective to reduce acids in the stomach and should help you feel better.
On the other hand, because you are pregnant, you need a regular check for blood pressure and urinalysis to rule out preeclampsia which might also cause stomach problems, visual changes and headaches in pregnant women and needs urgent attention.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
