What Causes Abdominal Discomfort And Passing Loose Stools?
Hi. I have had mild abdominal discomfort for a week (I've had it before a couple of months ago but it went away)and loose light brown stools (not watery). I had a blood test and one of the three samples is abnormal and I I'm being referred to gastro according to the doctors receptionist and I'm freaking out because I couldn't speak to my doctor today. Is it possible to put my mind at rest before I see the doctor tomorrow. Thankyou
Hi, i do care for your concern. You have not mentioned your age? Abdominal discomfort along with loose stools most commonly suggest of parasitic infection. amoebiasis do cause blood streaked stools. I would suggest To start on anti amoebic medicine and continue for full course of one week. If the symptoms still persist then further evaluation may be needed, so need not panic right now. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
