What Causes Abdominal Distension Despite A Normal Ultrasound Report?

Hi, I have had a distended stomach or bloated stomach for about 7mnths now. No pain my bathroom habits haven t changed not overly gassy or going more often than usual. I went to my doctor did blood tests , ultra sound X-ray and a barium X-ray. All showed nothing was wrong. Sometimes I notice stringly like threads in my stool I m just wondering if I have a possible parasite infection? Dr just keeps brushing me off as ibs. But I ve never had problems like this before in my life and one day I just wake up looking 9 mnths pregnant and it hasn t gone away??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
It could be a gastritis secondary to acid reflux.
Other possibility is irritable bowel disease.
As of now you can take antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persists better to consult a gastroenterologist and plan for an endoscopy.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
