What Causes Abdominal Distention Along With Pressure In The Rib Cage?
my stomach is swelling. i have bad cramping , pressure on my ribcage , and is hard to eat. when i eat it hurts. it looks like im pregnant . i have takin 4 at home preg. test , one at the hospital , and a blood test at the emergency room which all came back negative. it doesnt look like i am getting a belly from a poor diet and bad eating , but is swolling and look acually preg. and i am 2 months late for my period , but my tubes are tied which gives a less chance.
Hi Pressure in the rib cage is common when the abdomen is too distended due to irritation of the diaphragm. The causes of abdominal distension are generally summarized by 5Fs: Fat (obesity), Faeces (constipation), Fetus (pregnancy), Flatus (gastrointestinal)and Fluid (ascites). In your cases, pregnancy has been eliminated but abdominal and pelvic masses are not.The numerous causes of abdominal distention could also be classified as non-obstructive causes, mechanical bowel obstruction or non-mechanical bowel obstruction. You will need an abdominal ultrasound, a plane abdominal film or a CT scan to know the exact cause. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
