Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have had abd discomfort for about 3 years, abd distention, cramping and diarrhea sometime it is difficult to get to a bathroom in time. I have nausea and fullness. I do take metformin and thought at first this could be the problem. I have a steady weight but rarely have hunger or an appetite. its getting to the point of wearing me down. I maybe with out these symptoms 1 week out of the month.
I understand your concern for your health issues. As per your history you are having intermittent and pain and cramping frequently. As you are already on Metformin, it can produce such pain after prolonged usage. It can be because of some underlying abdominal pathology. As Metformin causing these is quite rare, i would suggest you to consult your surgeon and get it evaluated throughly to find out the cause for it. I hope my answer will help you to understand your situation Wish you speedy recovery.
