What Causes Abdominal Distention And Scaly Facial Skin?

Hi, my husband has had four lower back surgeries and has been retired on disability for 2 years. He is battling depression. Over the winter, being very sedentary, his belly has grown and is hard as a rock. He has went up one full pant size. His skin is peeling on his face. Do you have any idea what might be going on with him. He is refusing to go to a doctor. Is there anything I can do at home?

abdominal distention can be due to constipation n for it he can take lexatives like laxobiron syrup etc n scaly skin may be due to dehydration n for it increase his water intake.
