What Causes Abdominal Distention While Suffering From Severe Pancreatitis?
Hi! My brother has been diagnosed with severe pancreatitis which was a result ofvheavy alcohol use. He was told over 2 years ago if he continues to drink he would die. He drinks at least a 12 pack of beer and smokes at least 1pack of cigarettes on a daily basis. But he has not had anymore severe pain and been hospitalized in over 2 years. He s on high does of medication for PTSD, depression, high blood pressure he takes some shot from his Dr once a month. I haven t seen him in about 2 mos. I saw him the other day and his stomache is very distended and his face is really swollen he s 6 3 and isn t fat and he said he s gained weight but looks like only his stomache and face. He doesn t even hardly look like how he did 5years ago. I have an RN who helps me with my baby who s special needs. I showed her a picture and asked what she thought she said he looks like he has Acites.
