Have been bothered by gas and bloating for months. Was eating mostly raw veggie salads and protein (chicken I boiled, wild-caught Alaskan canned salmon, organic grass-finished beef patties, eggs, Stonyfield plain whole milk yoghurt). Salads were romaine, spinach, kale, onion, garlic, olives, avocado, broccoli, cauliflower, sauerkraut, red bell pepper, mushrooms, nuts, dried cranberries and other berries, topped with 1 tsp. balsamic vinaigrette, chia seeds, flax seeds, hummus. Stopped raw and started steaming. Little relief. Became very ill with some kind of G.I. infection. Tests, including a CT scan, stool sample, metabolic panel, turned up nothing, except diverticulosis (not itis ). Before any tests came back, was prescribed Cipro and Metronidazole , which made me much sicker! Had sore throat and other opportunistic infections. Stopped taking both, felt a bit better. Still not 100% and wondering what I had! Or still have? Well, I should have known it would cost me, and I m broke on top of being ill. Thanks anyway, but I ll get a whopping bill from the G.I. doctor and can t afford more.
