What Causes Abdominal Pain After A Hysterectomy?

I just had an abdominal hysterectomy last week due to fibroids and anemia.I have pain in my lower abdomen and in the right inner thigh. The pain is intense when I use the restroom. I am 42 yo and otherwise healthy. I do not have any pain from the incision. Should I contact my doctor or continue taking the pain pills ordered?

Hi,

It is due to post-operative inflammatory pain. As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like Aeclofenac/Seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
