What Causes Abdominal Pain After Taking Misoprostol?

I took the misoprostol (3pills) as directed by my doctor on Thursday night (july 13th) about 7pm and from 10 pm to 2am I was cramping, very painful on a scale 1-10 was a 10 I couldn t walk or get out of bed. no bleeding, no passing clots, no other symptoms except for pregnancy symptoms (spitting, vomiting, hunger ect...) I know it has not been a week but I am wondering what to do next. Today is Monday (still no bleeding) I just want this over with, it s getting unbearable and I do not wish to take any more pills to promote more pain. :( what do I do?( FYI took the pills because baby had no detected heartbeat @ 9 & 10 weeks and shows 6 week size still with fetal pole, wasn t to abort pregnancy) Angie

Hello,

You should get back to the gynecologist. It could be incomplete abortion or none at all. If that is the case we need to remove the fetus manually by a dilatation and curettage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita
