What Causes Abdominal Pain Along With Yellow Vaginal Discharge?
I recently had my first C-section 3 weeks ago.. Now I am noticing heavy slimy orange-ish discharge. I also have some abdominal pains and it looks like I am gaining weight but I don t eat much to gain weight. I haven t had intercourse. Could it be an infection? And how?
Usuually the pain on the uterus after any type of delivery, whether C- section or normal delivery stops after 24 hours, definitely does not last for more than 72 hours. Your pain in the abdomen is associated with the orangish-yellowish discharge. Though you have not mentioned in which part of the abdomen the pain is, I presume it is in the lower abdomen. The vaginal discharge associated with pain is highly indicative of infection. If this discharge is foul smelling, there should not be any doubt about the infection. I would advice you to immediately consult your obstetrician physician to confirm the diagnosis and start the treatment. The treatment comprises of Antibiotcs no doubt. However, the cause for this infection will have to be sorted out. The physician may investigate you to find out whether any part of the product of conception is left in the uteine cavity. Ultrasonography may help to see it. However, first 3 weeks were uneventful and now these symptoms have started. So the cause of any tissue left inside the uterine cavity is very remote. Mostly this could be due to unhygeinic practises. Please get them confirmed from the doctor.
