I have never been fully told by my doc etc but I do suffer with ibs and have done for many years. I have been under a lot of stress lately and been on antibiotics too just your normal amoxicillin Is this some what normal or should I get it seen too. ? I am really a little worried. Hi Samantha,

I understand your concern.
I have completely gone through your query.

IBS does not often cause coloured stools.Of course occasionally it can cause abdominal pain.

Many of your symptoms represent an anaerobic infection in the gut.

For confirmation ,I advise you to get a complete stool examination with culture and ultrasound of the abdomen.

Meanwhile empirical antibiotic therapy can be started pending the test results.

I generally treat my patients with oral tablets of Pantoprazole and Ofloxacin-Ornidazole. I suggest you to please see a doctor if his views are same and if he/she can prescribe these drugs for you.

Once the test results are out ,we can plan appropriate therapy.

Hence I advise you to not get worried much at this junction. You condition is largely reversible and curable.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you
