Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea Along With Blood In Stools?
I am a 42 yr old female. I have had a lot of digestive issues the last 15 years. Mostly upset stomach and diarrhea. It has been pretty bad the last week but seemed better today. But now I have bright red blood when I use the restroom. Never happened before. YYYY@YYYY
Bright red blood when using the toilet may be due to hemorrhoids. In this case, you would see blood in the toilet paper and also in the toilet. Make sure you use a local cream for hemorrhoids and also use Movicol to help with constipation.
If you have bright red blood mixed with the stools and not blood in the toilet paper or in the toilet than a condition of the large bowel is likely and in this case, a visit with a doctor is indicated if it lasts more than a few days.
I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
