What Causes Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea In A Toddler?
My daughter is 22 and has been having low abdomnal pain every few days for about a month. She also has loose stools and sometime she vomits. I have taken her to the emergency room a few weeks ago. My husband took her last week to see her doctor. They said she has irrital bowel syndrome. I have that but do not vomit. What is your suggestion.
Your daughter is having frequent low abdominal pain every few days for about a month now associated with vomiting.
Before telling it is from irritable bowel syndrome, we should rule out other organic problems first: - chronic appendicitis flare up: complete blood count, physical examination (blumberg positive) - intestinal infection especially of parasites: get a stool examination for ova/parasites and abdominal ultrasound done - food allergy/intolerance: run intolerance tests
After evaluating the results we can determine the right cause or if irritable bowel syndrome is the cause.
Wish fast recovery.
