Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 69, healthy and active. I had a colonoscopy six days ago and continue to struggle with moderate abdominal pain, loose stool, and no appetite. If I try to eat regular food, three hours later I get cramps and feel nauseous. Is it possible that I contracted C-Diff as a result of the Colonoscopy? Thanks.
Hello. it may not be due to c. difficle. It may be just gastritis or acid peptic disease. You need to follow a few lifestyle tips
1. Do not eat spicy food 2. Take medications for gastritis- pantop/omez/rantac 3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8am, small snack at 11am, lunch at 1pm, small snack at 4pm and dinner at 8pm 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea 6. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis 7. Do regular exercise. Atleast half an hour per day 8. Learn meditation techniques 9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit
