What Causes Abdominal Pain And Foul Smell During Bowel Movement In Children?

My daughter has pain in the lower stomach. She is having anywhere from pain lasting 15 min to hours at a time. Her BM smells really bad. While having the pain her breath will start smelling really bad. I noticed that she s has some gas also with it and slobbering constantly. Im not sure if all the antibiotic has something to do with it. She was on 3 different antibiotics each 10 day of antibiotcs for strep.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have abdominal pain and foul smell during bowel movement in your children . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like indigestion , gastroenteritis, gastritis , irritable bowel syndrome , peptic ulcer , lactose intolerance and crohn's disease . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , blood test , endoscopy and examine physically by palpating . Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers , omeprazole , laxative , lopramide and analgesic . For now eat light , avoid spicy and heavy food .
