What Causes Abdominal Pain And Nausea In Patient With Liver Damage?
Used to drink a lot. I m 30 years old, haven t drank in about 6 years. Was having pains in liver area shortly after I quit drinking and went and had an ultrasound done with I abnormal findings. Dr said my liver was normal size, etc. I still have upper abdominal pain and struggle with nausea and a general unwell feeling quite often and I have grey stool from time to time. I m overweight with a terrible diet and I know this doesn t help with the issue. Could I have some serious liver damage or something?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi,
Grey stool is most likely due to obstructive jaundice. It should be investigated. There can be a block in bile duct. Reasons should be find out. Ultrasound examination and ERCP if necessary should be done to rule out the cause. A consultation with Gastroenterologist is well appreciated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
