Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The past two weeks I ve been having abdominal pain right below my rib cage. It almost feels like heart burn but nothing seems to take it away. My eating habits have not changed possibly eating more and I have no problems going to the bathroom. Lately it has been keeping me up at night, especially when I m on my back. Any suggestions
By your history and description, the possibility of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is more likely. Epigastric pain, especially at night when lying on back, is commonly seen with GERD. So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in GERD.
1. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food.
2. Avoid excessive stress and tension, be relax and calm.
3. Avoid large meals, instead, take frequent small meals.
4. Take pantoprazole and levosulpiride combination on empty stomach twice daily.
5. Go walking after meals.
6. Keep 2-3 pillows under the head in bed.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
