If the hernia is large and you're experiencing symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux it's better to get operated. A procedure called Nissen's fundoplication is done however sometimes the surgery fails sometimes that is hernia reccurs after some duration. Get an appointment with gastro surgeon, in meantime you can take Tablet Pantoprazole 40mg once daily half hour before food to reduce the discomfort due to acid secretion.
