What Causes Abdominal Pain On The Right Side When Suffering From Diverticulosis?

Hi! I am having pain in my right side toward my back. It s not constant but is coming more often, feeling like a gut punch in that area. I also have some sort of colon infection, constant. I have diverticuloisis, neuropathy, and PAD amongst a longer list of conditions. I was recently given a 40mg dose of lisinipril from 20mg and remember previous condern with blood pressure meds. I m sure I need to see a dr, but hope to know what all the symptons could be. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Though striking possibility is colon infection, an additional thought of secondary renal calculus via altered gut absorption of calcium and oxalate must be considered in this case with punch pain over upper back region.

An ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis after clinical opinion is fat better option in your case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
