What Causes Abdominal Pain Post Treatment For Pneumonia And Colon Obstruction?
I just got out of hospital for pneumonia and colon obstruction. I left hospital a week ago, this past Thursday. I am having pains in my right middle abdomen that feels similar to gall bladder problems (but it is gone for 10 yrs. This happens once I eat something, I eat 4-5 bites of rice with lactose free milk and light margarine this morning and had to stop. It kept me up in the early eving yesterday too. I am taking a large assort of meds since leaving hospital, some ore temporary. Please advise what is in that area that I should see doctor about today. Thank you
As per your history, the pain can be either due to the gastroenteritis or because of kidney issues.
As you said you take many medications, the chances of the gastric upset due to side effects of these medicines cannot be ruled out.
Most of the times if your pain is the colicky type (severe and episodic) the cause may be because of kidney issue otherwise it looks like the gastric upset.
Because of recent medical history, you need to visit your consultant doctor to check if there are any chances of postoperative infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Muzaffer Hussain Parray,
