What Causes Abdominal Pain, Vomiting And Loss Of Appetite?

A couple months ago I wouldn t eat even if I was hungry. I ate only because I didn t want to starve but it disgusted me when I did eat. I would continue to be hungry though when I would eat I would lose my appetite. Soon I went to the doctor because it got bad. I began to have tummy aches and I would throw up and have diarrhea at the same time. It would happen just about every hour. The doctors then told me it could be severe and I might have to be operated — I don t quite remember what it was they said I had but they weren t sure. It was an abdomindal pain. After that it calmed down. I get the same feeling. I eat but I almost seem to lose my appetite. Every time I lay down I become hungry even if I just ate. Should I have another doctors visit in case this could be where I would need to be operated?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of abdominal disorders and extensive gastroenterological work up is required. You should do colonoscopy and gastroscopy and check tumor markers for start.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
