What Causes Abdominal Pain While On Ferrous Sulphate?

I am a 25 year old female, 5ft 5 and weigh 11st 13. I have recently been diagnosed with anemia and am taking ferrous sulphate. The last two days however I have experienced a pain in the lower right side of my abdomen similar to but much more severe than a stitch. It is worse when I breathe deeply and is constant. Could this be down to the tablets?

HI.
The ferrous fumarate tablets usually cause acidity, that is burning pain in upper abdomen. But they are also known to cause constipation and GI disturbances.
Stop the tablets and the problem should be solved in one to two days. If the problem is not solved , we have to consider other causes of pain like Appendicitis , colitis, right ovarian cyst, twisting or Fallopian tune problem.
