Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Abdominal Pain While Suffering From Diabetes?
Have seen about 5 doctors, they all do not know what is wrong. All test results are either normal and/or negative. I m still having abdominal pain and now my vision is messing up which means my diabetes got worse. I do not know what to do!! Would like some information about what you think I should do.
I have read and understood your concern. Sorry to hear you are suffering from diabetes. It may be very difficult to know the exact cause of abdominal pain if not associated with other symptoms. You may help characterize the pain for more clarification: exact location, nature of pain, radiation, calming factors, constant or intermittent. It becomes more difficult when all tests come normal.
You may get a stool exam and culture if not yet done. Since pain has persisted for long, the opinion of a gastrologist will be very important. As for your vision problem, it is common in diabetics especially, if blood sugar not under control. It may be caused by diabetic retinopathy. I will advise you see an ophthalmologist for examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
