Hello,
The pelvic collection post
appendectomy may be major concern for urinating pain and discomfort as there is compression over lower
ureter, bladder or vesicoureteric junction. In my clinic, I do recommend an indwelling catheter if the intensity of pain is severe and clean intermittent catheterization if it is of moderate intensity.
Mild to moderate cases are best managed with:
- Culture sensitive antibiotics
- Round the clock coverage of
analgesic and anti inflammatory medicines
- Hydration to prevent secondary bacterial infection
Regular follow up with her operating surgeon is mandatory for best results ahead.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
