What Causes Abnormal Bleeding And Weight Gain When Diagnosed With Endometrial Polyps?
Hi, two months ago I started to have anormal bleeding, I went to my GYN, after doing me a several exam they discovered that have endometrial polyps, due to the polyps the GYN, referred me to do surgery. My question is I gain about 35 pounds during no 6 months, might the polyps be the cause , And after the surgery do I will go back to my normal weight?thank you.
The weight changes do not seem related to the polyp, they are two different issues. You will need to be watchful of your diet and get involved in more exercise to reduce your weight and probably check TSH to make sure your thyroid is normal as well as it might affect the weight.
Treatment of the polyp will address only the polyp and will not have any effect on your weight. It might be best to see an eye doctor first. Blocked tear ducts are most of the times treated with antibiotic ointment and massage to open the duct. If this does not help enough then some treatment with a balloon that blows air there might help to unblock it. If these do not help enough then surgery is needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
