What Causes Abnormal Enlargement Of The Aorta?

I have had two ultrasounds done and both showed a bulge in my aorta in the abdomen area. When I had a ct scan done the report came back and said it was normal. At first my cardiologist said, no that can t be right then reversed himself days later and said he believes the scan. Problem is 2 people who work at the hospital where I had scan done said they wouldn t believe the scan! I don t know what to do. Does an aorta bulge just go away? The cardiologist felt that it was an ulcer in the aorta originally and not an anyerism(sp?).

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, to rule out aortic aneurysm, a repeat scan specially spiral CT can be helpful. A cardiovascular surgeon opinion here compared to a cardiologist.

Films or report of aorta may not be sufficient. So watching it on monitor may help the cardiovascular surgeon to give a final opinion regarding that.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
