What Causes Abnormal Menstrual Bleeding Post Insertion Of Mirena IUD?
Hi I got the mirena Dec 31 of 2014 after I had my second daughter I was still bleeding a little when I had it Inserted from my delivery and when I got the mirena I was still bleeding and now it s like I have a brown discharge that species has an odor to it and then it goes bak to bleeding again. I don t know what s going on should I remove it? Idk if I have an infection or not I just want to know if that s normal or is it ever going to go away?
From inserting Mirena can happen that the inside part of uterus can be damaged but that is very rare. Also, the hormonal levels that Mirena gives you can cause a little bit of bleeding that can last 3 months after insertion. But if you have discomfort and it is not getting better then for sure consider seeing your gynecologist to check what is going on.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
