What Causes Abnormal Palpitations In Chest While On GTN Sorbitrate?

My wife(35yrs) is taking GTN Sorbitrate 2.6 (two tabs at a time twice daily at 6am and 3pm) from 22nd July as she was feeling abnormal palpitation in chest. Please suggest me if the dosage is correct or not? Is there any side effect of this medicine ? She has burning sensation on body, palms and feet and so she is not being able to sleep well. Please advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello sir,
Is your wife already diagnosed with heart problem? Because GTN is only for patients suffering from angina (blockage in heart vessels). If she is a known patient of angina, it is better to take GTN sorbitrate. If not, please stop, take an ECG. there are other medications for palpitations.

If your wife is having angina and taking this drug, i think we can change the timing of dosage. give in 12 hour intervals after food for 10 days.

if she is not comfortable even after 10 days, then this drug can be stopped and similar drug like Sorbitrate 2.5mg twice a day can be tried.
