What Causes Abnormal Pap Smear(LSIL) Despite Being Sexually Inactive?

I have had two abnormal paps six months apart (LSIL) and have not been sexually active in over two years. I had the LEEP procedure Sept 2014. My first abnormal pap was July 2015, second one last week. I have had a history of abnormal paps/biopsies/treatment for fifteen years now. What are some reasons why I would be continuing to have issues despite the fact that I am no longer sexually active?

Hi.

Sexual activity does not cause an abnormal pap smear, so why would you relate it to that?

Infections (e.g. HPV), cancer, etc; are most common causes for an abnormal pap smear. So if you could either send me the report or visit a doctor with the result we can tell you the cause ma'am.

Best wishes.
