What Causes Abnormal Stomach Heaviness And Discomfort?

I am experiencing stomac heaviness bad feeling unconfortable I am taking Adalat xl 20 once a day, The doc. Suggested to take twobutmy blood pressure is135. 70 .I also taking irbesartan Teva 150 mill. Twice daily.please advise. YYYY@YYYY . Thank you

Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. GI side effects are common with calcium channel blockers like adalat that you are taking. It may be the cause of your problems.

I suggest that you take the medication on empty stomach only and never with any grape juice or other juices as they tend to increase side effects.

You may even consult your doctor and ask him regarding other options available for BP medications and if he may switch you over to some other medication.
