What Causes Abnormal Sugar Levels Despite Taking Insulin?
Hi doctor, I have gestational diabetes. i was controlling my sugar through diet but still my fasting was not in control so my doctor suggested to take glycomet 850 2 tablets at night. out of 10 days 2 days where 103 and 97 fasting rest of the days it was below 95. but due to the 2 out of range she asked me to take insulin in night 8 units. Now my after meal is going out of control and walking for half an hour after meal also doesn t reduce my sugar where as it was had good affect before taking insulin. and before taking insulin whenever my 1hr after meal reading is less than 115 my fasting is high. If i have good carbohydrate for dinner my fasting is low that is around 88 or 89. Please let me know why this change in taking insulin
Since, the blood glucose levels cannot be controlled by medication and insulin alone, there is requirement of change of dose and timing of insulin. I suggest you to consult your treating physician for change in drug dose and timing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
