What Causes Abnormal Uterine Bleeding In A 40 Year Old?

I am 40 years old and considered obese. My mother had uterine and cervical cancer and I am now having abnormal heavy bleeding a week after a previous heavy period. Should I be worried and get a pap smear? I had one about a year and a half ago. Thank you.

Yes please get a pap smear done to rule out any abnormal pathology and treat it, if any. Being at or above 40 years of age and having a family history, I would advise that to you.
