Hi i am experiencing heavy bleeding after a period of about 4 months without any period, i have have the depo injection and the first time i stopped bleeding for 3 months and the second time after a month i started bleeding again and it is now going on for 6 weeks, should i get the injection again?
Hello dear I understand your concern Excessive uterine bleeding could be due to hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, endometrial dysplasia, endometrium cancer, adenomyosis and fibroid. I would suggest to consult the gynaecologic and undergo reproductive hormone analysis, USG scan, endometrial biopsy to rule out the cause. You can go for progesteron shot to stop the bleeding. Along with this tranexamic acid can be useful to reduce the bleeding. If medicine will not help then lat option is D & C. Take healthy diet with iron supplements Maintain proper pelvic hygiene. Best regards Dr. Sagar
