Hello,

Your nephew is suffering from abscess close to the ear. Get it clinically examined by a general physician or health care provider. It can be caused by fungal infection, heat rash, allergy reaction, sexually transmitted diseases (syphilis, herpes, etc.) If needed it will be incised and drained, antiseptic dressing done and will be given conservative treatment with antibiotics (Augmentin) and analgesics (acetaminophen or Combiflam).

He should get antiseptic dressing done every alternate day for better wound healing. He is also suffering from abscess on face and genitals. You have not specified if he is sexually active or not. If sexually active he should get STD test done to stay on the safe side. If tests comes positive, he will be treated with antibiotics / antivirals. Since the infection is all over the face and intimate parts your treating doctor may take a culture or a small amount of fluid or pus from the abscess to test for the presence of bacteria.

Blood test may be done to rule out the possibility of sepsis. Your nephew will be accordingly treated. Warm compress may be helpful. He can take a course of doxycycline or cephalexin to control the infection. To reduce soreness he can take Acetaminophen, one stat when needed after food.

He should take care of his hygiene, wash hands regularly, clean all cuts and scrapes, even small ones, with soap and water and apply a thin layer of an antibacterial ointment like clotrimazole to prevent fungal infection. He can apply a thin layer of ointment hydrocortisone on the affected areas that causes itching. He should keep his cuts and wounds bandaged. He should avoid smoking and addictions if any. He should take nutritious diet and avoid food that triggers his symptoms. He should avoid sharing personal things and toiletries.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
