What Causes Absence Of Fetal Pole With Sore Breasts And Abdominal Cramps?

I had a ultrasound right at 6 weeks...they only saw a gestational sac and yolk sac the tech said she was pleased with what she saw on the scan. Not seeing a fetal pole scared me very much i went home and tried not to stress. I still have pregnancy symptoms, sore breast, nausea, mild abdominal cramps. I have no bleeding or discharge....do you tjink that on my next ultrasound they will see a fetal pole?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think it was too early to see the fetal pole and that's the reason it wasn't seen at the scan.

Probably you were less than 6 weeks at the moment of the scan. You may need two other weeks to see the fetal pole. I don't think this something to worry about.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
