Hi,
Generally, the heartbeat of the baby may start getting detected from around 7th week of
pregnancy. However, it may not be detected early when cycles are irregular.
Ovulation is not regular nor predictable with irregular cycles which makes it difficult to predict the exact age of baby, hence the discrepancy in the estimation of weeks of pregnancy (
gestational age), sometimes.
In such scenarios, there are chances that one is not 7 weeks pregnant yet, calculated according to the period date.
If a similar patient comes to my clinic, I would recommend a transvaginal or pelvic
ultrasound after a week to check the baby's heartbeat and for accurate gestational age.
In the meanwhile, it may be a good idea to take plenty of rest, eat healthy, stay calm and relaxed, try deep breathing exercises, avoid physical exertion, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
