Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Absence Of Gestational Sac During 3 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I am about 3 weeks and 6 days pregnant, first day of last menstrual cycle was May 29 2015. I had a transvaginal ultrasound done today and they couldn t see anything so they told me they were afraid it may be an ectopic pregnancy. Could this be true? Or is it just too early to tell? I got my first positive at home pregnancy test on June 22.
I have gone through your question and I understand your concern. If your date of last menstrual period was may 29 2015 then your gestational age would be 8+ weeks. If you have undergone recent transvaginal ultrasound then it is abnormal not to detect intrauterine gestational sac by this time. I would recommend co-relation with beta-HCG levels and consultation with your local obstetrician for clinical evaluation and further management accordingly.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
