What Causes Acid Reflux Along With Flatulence In An Infant?
Hello, My baby is 17 months old. Over the last 2-3 nights he has been waking up many times crying with some discomfort. It seems like stomach pain. He is passing gas at time in the night as well. We have given him the following pain killers - Carmicide Syrup, Bonisan Syrup, Drotin DS Syrup intermittently. We just gave him Drotin and he dozed off to sleep. Enterogermina - 4 doses have been given. We visited a GP today, but she said if he is eating, passing stools and urine and does not vomit or have fever, nothing to worry. No medicines except pain killer. The infection will cure itself. But we are worried since he is crying a lot.
hi, thanks for writing in to hcm. i understand your concern. carmicide is sodium citrate plus citric acid, bonisan - relieves colic pain, drotin- anti spasmodic relieves colic pain. enterogermina is a probiotic. all the medicines prescribed are appropriate. you could visit a paediatrician as he may prescribe some antibiotics if the pain is not receding. you could also try the soothing gripe water of a reputed company.kindly keep a watch on your baby's eating habits. at this age such problems are common due to teething. hope this helped.
