What Causes Acid Reflux And Abdominal Pain While Having Gastroparesis?

I am a 45 yr old female. I have gasteoparisis which has been acting up lately. It s usually just an over full feeling, bringing food up kind of thing. Tonight I am having sharp shooting pain coming and going in the stomach. Should I be concerned? I also have a history of pancreantitis and h pylori.

Hi,

So you have acute gastritis so you should avoid fatty, oily and high calorie diet. Have some walk after having food instead of taking rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Have regular sleep habits and avoid stress. Lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, fish once or twice a week, avoid meat. Avoid smoking and alcohol if any. You can get prescribed tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg before breakfast once a day for 2 weeks from your local doctor. If doesn't subsides or becoming severe you should visit a doctor and get one ultrasound done to look for pancreatitis . You can also get anti spasmodic like buscopan prescribed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sagar Makode
